The Gavarnie is a rope with double standardisation, double and twin. It is durable, reliable and versatile in alpine terrain. Its light weight at just 38gr/m allows climbers to move without hardly noticing any weight or friction. Its Fusion construction provides extra security on winding paths to overcome sharp rocks and ridges. It is recommended for technical climbs, where every gram counts, and is ideal for mountaineering, ice climbing and technical ski mountaineering.
The Cirque de Gavarnie is part of the Monte Perdido massif and is the inspiration behind the rope of the same name. This cirque is flanked by a large rock wall with three imposing vertical gradients. The cirque is surrounded by several peaks standing over 3,000 meters, so climbing its walls requires an extraordinary level of skill and technique, with routes of up to 1,500 meters of change in altitude. Top climbers tackle its walls in the winter season, with ice climbing and mixed styles predominating.
